DR G DE AGUIAR

PLASTIC, RECONSTRUCTIVE & COSMETIC SURGEON

Procedures - Facial Trauma

Facial trauma, which may result from a motor vehicle accident, assault, or a sports injury, can be devastating to an individual. Facial trauma can change your appearance and affect your ability to function. It may include severe cuts, bruises, burns, muscle damage, and fractures. Facial trauma may also affect the way others interact with you or vice versa. Having more than 2 decades of experience working at a major level 1 trauma centre, Dr De Aguiar can perform surgical procedures to improve your appearance and restore function to your facial muscles, minimising the long-term impact such accidents can have.

Post-Traumatic Deformities
Injuries can affect our appearance, leaving behind scars or bone abnormalities, and can sometimes even impair function. This is not always due to an original improper treatment, but may be the result of a repair that simply changed over time. Plastic surgeons can often improve post-traumatic deformities using special tools and techniques.

For instance, one can revise or re-align scars, making them less noticeable. For larger depression areas or abnormal tissues, we can also inject fat or other compounds into your skin to make it even.

If you have suffered an injury and are currently experiencing post-traumatic deformity, you may be able to benefit from reconstructive surgery
